Guy Jude Coniglio

Guy Jude Coniglio, 67, of Apple Valley, passed away on August 20th, 2026.

Guy was born in Fontana, California on December 24th, 1958 to Ronald

and Constance Coniglio. From an early age, Guy loved the outdoors. He

was an active Boy Scout and treasured the time he spent trekking,

camping and fishing alongside his father. He would often tell the

infamous story of accidentally hooking his own lip with a fishing lure

on a family fishing trip, a cautionary tale for his children and

grandchildren as he taught them to fish. Guy also played baseball

throughout his teenage years and was an excellent pitcher, playing on

teams with his dad as a coach and his mom as the team manager. Guy

graduated from Pacific High School in San Bernardino, CA in the Class

of 1976, and shortly after joined the Air Force Reserves following in

his father’s footsteps as an airman and would travel to places like

Alaska, Guam, Japan, and the Philippines.

While working as a butcher at Goodwins Market in Crestline, CA, his

future sister-in-law introduced him to Tonya Malizia, who he would

marry on June 4th, 1983 in the mountains where they met. They would

spend the next 43 years together raising three children, helping to

raise five grandchildren, and hosting their family and friends in the

home they settled into in Apple Valley, CA.

Guy spent 30 years working as an aircraft inspector at McDonnell

Douglas/ Boeing, where he took tremendous pride in his contributions

to the C-17 Globemaster III project in Long Beach, CA. He was equally

passionate about standing up for the little man and for many years

served as a UAW 148 union steward, helping workers navigate contract

negotiations, strikes, plant closures, and grievances. He was a

beloved colleague and would stay friends with many of his co-workers

for the rest of his life.

Guy was known by many for a personality that was unmistakably his. He

had a goofy sense of humor and talent for cracking jokes that

sometimes would only make sense to him, which is what made them so

funny and memorable. On the weekends it was rare if you didn’t find

Guy in the garage, jamming to his vinyl records, flipping burgers on

the grill and insisting that whatever he had just burned was cooked

exactly right. After retiring, Guy rediscovered his love for camping

and spent much of his free time visiting state and national parks with

his wife, their dog and often their children and grandchildren. After

decades of hard work, he embraced being a homebody and spending time

with the people he loved. He was a devoted husband, beloved father,

cherished grandfather, loyal friend and will be missed by so many.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Tonya Coniglio; his mother

Constance Conigio; his son, Chase Coniglio; his daughter, Taryn

(Brian) Rucker; his daughter Ari (Nathan) Grealish; five

grandchildren, Novalee, Kenley, Dax, Carson, and Cali; his brother Ty

(Vickie) Coniglio, and many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him

dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald A. Coniglio.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 29th, 2026 at

12:00pm at 9515 Yucca St., Apple Valley, CA 92308."
